Pedestrian hit, killed in Raleigh

Raleigh Police are investigating a crash that killed a pedestrian Monday night.

It happened just before midnight on New Bern Avenue near the intersection with King Charles Road.

Police said 24-year-old Simmie Brown was attempting to cross New Bern Avenue when an on-coming car struck him.

According to an accident report, there was not a crosswalk in the area.

The driver of a car, 34-year-old Shea Love was given a field sobriety test.

Love was charged with driving with a revoked license.

Police are still investigating.
