Police said 25-year-old Justin Black was riding a motorcycle on Hope Mills Road when a Chevy Equinox pulled into Black's path.

The collision caused Black to be thrown over his handlebars. The driver of the SUV then fled the scene.

Black was taken to Cape Fear Valley Hospital where he was treated and released.

Police later arrested and charged 32-year-old Tara Bruggeman with hit-and-run, driving with no operator's license, and failure to see before turning.
