Police searching for Wiener Works suspects

Police in Hope Mills are searching for two men who apparently robbed a well-known hotdog restaurant Sunday night.

The robbery happened just before 10 a.m. at the Weiner Works on Hope Mills Road.

Police said surveillance video captured what appeared to be two African American men entering the restaurant carrying handguns. One suspect was also carrying a bag.

The first suspect was described as having a median slim build, and wearing a dark hoodie, light-color sweat pants, white socks on his hands and red shoes.

The second suspect was also slim, but shorter than the first suspect. He was wearing a dark cap, a red bandanna across his face, a dark top, pants and shoes with a white design.

The men allegedly fled the scene on foot.
