Cross Creek Mall begins new youth curfew

FAYETTEVILLE

Beginning Friday, visitors under 18 years of age must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on Friday and Saturday evenings after 6 p.m.

Any unescorted teens at the mall prior to 6 p.m. must leave the when the curfew takes effect, or a parent must join them. Security guards will ask all unsupervised teens to leave the mall.

One parent can escort up to three children, but at least one has to be the child of that parent.

To enforce the new rules, security will ask anyone who appears to be 18 or younger to show ID. Acceptable identification includes a driver's license, state or military identification card, passport or visa. Anyone who cannot produce proper identification will also be asked to leave the property.

The only exceptions are children under 18 who are working at the mall. Those teens must be going directly to their place of work and must leave at the conclusion of their shift.
