Durham police investigate two shootings

Shooting near near the convenience store at Liberty Street and North Alston Avenue

Durham police are investigating two shootings that left three people wounded Friday night.

The first shooting happened after 10 p.m. Friday night when police said a suspect opened fire, spraying a car, near the convenience store at Liberty Street and North Alston Avenue.

Around 11:20 p.m. police were called to a second shooting on Old Oxford Road, near Meriwether Drive. Police said a man was walking down the road when he was shot in the leg.

All of the victims were taken to Duke Medical Center. Officials have not released their names or conditions, nor have they identified a possible suspect.
