Woman killed in Morrisville accident

MORRISVILLE, N.C.

It happened Tuesday afternoon on Colwick Lane near the McCrimmon Parkway and N.C. Highway 54 interchange. It appeared to be a freak, tragic accident although it still is unclear exactly what happened.

The only clues left for police were overturned garbage cans in front of Dulaney's townhouse, and her SUV was found a few parking spaces down. It had backed into another resident's car that had been sideswiped.

Also, the wheels on the SUV were turned to the right and fender in front of the driver's door was damaged. It was the kind of damage that might come from the door being opened too far.

Investigators have revealed that they had found no evidence of foul play. They said Dulaney was the driver and the only person in the car when she became the victim of what appears to be a tragic accident.

Early on in the investigation, police said there were witnesses to what happened. They said those witnesses told them Dulaney's vehicle was moving when she was ejected and run over.
