Man allegedly assaulted in Durham park

A man was critically injured Friday night after being attacked by a group while walking through a Durham park, according to police.

The 53-year-old man was walking through East End Park on North Alston Avenue around 10:45 p.m. when a group of guys approached him. Detectives said approximately four black males, who are about 16-20 years old, assaulted the man, and attempted to rob him.

The victim was taken to Duke Hospital.

No charges have been filed. Anyone with information is asked to call Crimestoppers at (919) 683-1200.
