McCrory, Matt Romney continue campaign in Morrisville

MORRISVILLE, N.C.

Republican gubernatorial candidate Pat McCrory and Mitt's son, Matt Romney, stopped at Smokey's BBQ Shack. The pair spoke to a crowd of a few hundred supporters who gathered outside the restaurant.

The two talked up the Republican ticket for president, latching on to what supporters are calling new-found energy in the campaign.

"The team of Mitt Romey and Paul Ryan--that's a choice that is going to bring prosperity and confidence back to America," Mitt Romney said.

"I'm so proud to join this team of Paul Ryan and Mitt Romney, and we're going to make North Carolina red again," McCrory said.

The latest poll released for North Carolina by the left-leaning Public Policy Polling Group has President Obama with a narrow lead in the state. However, McCrory has a sizeable lead over his Democratic challenger Lieutenant Governor Walter Dalton.
