Officer cited for seatbelt violation in crash

RALEIGH

Raleigh police said Officer Sandi Rogers was stopped at a red light at the intersection of South Wilmington Street and Chapanoke Road.

As another car approached in the opposite direction, Rogers drove through the intersection with her lights and sirens on and then collided with the car.

Rogers and two others were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
