FAYETTEVILLE, N.C. --
A community activist in Fayetteville who criticized the police department for stopping a high percentage of African-American drivers was cited Wednesday morning for allegedly soliciting a prostitute.
Troy Williams confirmed he was cited, but denied he was soliciting in Fayetteville's Bonnie Doone neighborhood.
Williams was frequently in the news earlier this year after he uncovered statistics that showed that 75 percent of the drivers stopped and searched by Fayetteville police were African-American.
