Delivery drivers targeted in Fayetteville robberies

FAYETTEVILLE, N.C.

Detectives said during the robberies, the drivers are typically approached by armed suspects while trying to make a delivery.

The first robbery happened June 28, at 2:11 a.m. in the 5300 block of Ramsey Street.

Since then, each of the four remaining robberies took place last week and all happened around the same time period. On Aug. 8 a robbery was reported in the 5400 block of Wichita Drive just before 10 p.m. An hour later, another robbery took place in the 2900 block of Raeford Road, police said.

The next day, on Aug. 9, a robbery was reported around 9:50 p.m. in the 700 block of Perley Street.

On Aug. 10, a robbery occurred in the 700 block of Commerce Street at 9:39 p.m.

The investigations into the recent robberies are on-going and detectives are investigating the possibility that several of the robberies may be connected.
