Authorities in Durham are still on the lookout for the gunman who opened fire on an assistant manager at a Blockbuster store over the weekend.

It happened outside the Blockbuster on North Duke Street Saturday around 9:30 a.m., just as the employee was getting ready to make a deposit.

Police said the victim was shot in the abdomen and wrist as he was getting into his car. The store's bank deposit bag was taken during the robbery.

The victim, whose name has not been released, was taken to Duke University Hospital with serious injuries.

"We're praying for them, and my heart goes out to them," one customer said. "I don't know what condition he's in right now, I hope he's pulling through okay."

Officials are still searching for suspects. Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at (919) 683-1200.
