A woman was arrested Saturday morning for allegedly starting a massive fire that gutted more than a dozen apartments and displaced dozens of people.

Police arrested 21-year-old Ricela Salom Rebollar-Valdez in Guilford County, where she lives. She is charged with one count of first-degree arson and one count of second-degree arson, along with breaking and entering.

Investigators believe she started Friday afternoon's fire at the Springfield apartment complex on University Drive. No information is available on the motive for the incident.

Rebollar-Valdez is being held without bond in the Guilford County Detention Center.

Officials said at least 18 units were destroyed and more were damaged. In all, 16 families, including 34 people, were displaced as a result of the fire.

Management at the apartment complex told ABC11 they will have social workers on site Tuesday to assist any residents.
