The victim, Jayquan Taybron, of Middlesex, arrived at Wilson Medical Center just before 3:30 a.m. with a gunshot wound. He later died at the hospital.
Investigators determined the shooting happened in the 4400 block of W. Hornes Church Road in Bailey.
Officials later arrested Burnice Antwon Hinnant for first-degree murder and carrying a concealed weapon.
The investigation is still ongoing and no further details have been released.
