A spokesperson for the Fayetteville Police Department said the man's body was found shortly after 7 a.m.
The spokesperson said the man's identity would be released after next of kin was notified.
Anyone with information about the homicide is asked to call Detective Orellano with the Fayetteville Police Department at (910) 988-6543 or Crime Stoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
