Police: Pitbulls attack children in Raleigh

RALEIGH

"We were all playing in the tennis court over here," said Joey Brigante. "I ran in their yard and we were all playing and then these three pitbulls came down and attacked me."

In all, Joey received eight bites from the dogs, and he wasn't the only one.

Chris Thomas was bitten after he ran out of his house after he heard the kids screaming near Easthampton Drive in Northeast Raleigh.

Chris' son, Josh, described the chaos.

"Out of nowhere, I heard a lot of screaming," said Josh Thomas. " I see my mom pulling one of the kids away. Kids are in the trees and another was trying to ride his bike away."

The dogs' owner told ABC11 that his dogs accidently got out but that they were gentle. He believes people in the neighborhood antagonized his pets.

However, the city disagreed. He was cited and one of his dogs was taken from him.
