Cary schools locked down after robbery

Officials put several Cary schools on lockdown Tuesday morning as a precaution following a robbery.

Cary police said there was a holdup at the Sears at Cary Town Center  around 10:20 a.m.

A dark colored car fled the scene and was last seen on Walnut Street headed towards Cary High School.

There were no injuries.

The schools placed on lockdown were Adams Elementary, East Cary Middle, and Cary High.

The lockdown was lifted around 11 a.m.
