Man acquitted in Durham Freeway shooting

A jury found 23-year-old Terry Percell Green not guilty Wednesday in the 2011 shooting death of a man along the Durham Freeway.

Green was aquitted on charges of first-degree murder, attempted first-degree murder, assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill, and 10 counts of discharging a firearm into an occupied vehicle

Demario Eugene Carr, 26, died after being shot on the northbound side of the freeway near Roxboro Street March 21.

A second man, James Eric Downey, 25, of Marne Avenue, was charged with murder in the case last September.
