Two charged with murder of Chatham County woman

Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a Chatham County woman.

Daphne Forster's body was found Oct. 10 near Chicken Bridge Road. The 38 year old's car was found Monday at a hotel on Guess Road in Durham.

Deputies arrested 25-year-old Caleb Shaddie Wyland and 24-year-old Brian Keith Whitfield Tuesday around 3:30 p.m. Both are charged with first-degree murder. Additional charges are forthcoming.

Wyland and Whitfield are roommates at a residence on Carl Durham Road in Chapel Hill. Officials said the suspects and the victim knew each other but have not given further details of their relationship.

Authorities have not released a motive or cause of death in the slaying.

Both men are being held without bond and are scheduled to appear in Chatham County District Court on Nov. 19.
