A Niles man was reunited Friday with the first responders who saved his life.

Bob Raminiak suffered a heart attack at his home. A police officer was the first to respond. He had been trained to do CPR but had never done it on an actual patient.

Still, he kept up compressions until the ambulance arrived. Friday Raminiak had nothing but praise for the first responders.

"Thanks to everybody else who knew how to do their job I'm standing here today," he said. "I'm a police officer and trained to do a ton of things but saving life is better or helping a life i mean i was only a part of it but that's more important than anything."

Those who treated Raminiak at Advocate Lutheran General say it's a miracle to see him doing this well.
