Commissioners approve purchase of former YWCA

The former downtown Raleigh YWCA building could become Wake County's next school.

The Board of Commissioners approved the $1 million purchase Monday.

Approval came on a four-to-three vote when Republican Commissioner Joe Bryan joined Democrats in voting yes.

Chairman Paul Coble voted against the purchase because he said it's not a priority location for a new school and it costs too much money.
