A customer foiled a bank robbery in Fayetteville Friday.

The dramatic scene unfolded around 10 a.m. at the Wells Fargo bank on Walter Reed Road.

A surveillance camera captured the masked bandit pointing a gun at tellers and demanding cash.

A customer then managed to startle the gunman by grabbing him from behind. During the fight, the suspect dropped the weapon and ran away without any money.

Fortunately, no one was hurt.

The suspect is described as a white male, between 18-22 years of age, 5'8" to 5'9" tall, with a slender build.

Detectives believe the suspect may be involved in other recent bank robberies in the area. Anyone with information is asked to call them at (910) 433-1856 or CrimeStoppers at (910) 483-TIPS (8477).
