Suspects named in flea market shooting

DURHAM, N.C.

Two people were shot at the Durham Green Flea Market Sunday. Investigators have charged Alexander Cardona, 17, of West Trinity Avenue and Irving Martinez, 17, of Maplewood Drive with attempted murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury.

Neither suspect is in custody at this time.

The 31-year-old victim has been released from the hospital and the 19-year-old victim remains hospitalized.

In addition, Cardona and Martinez are wanted in connection with a Dec. 4 assault and robbery on Hart Street.  Both teens are charged with robbery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit robbery, assault with a deadly weapon and encouraging participation in criminal street gang activity in connection with that incident.
