Resident charged with arson of assisted living facility

Police have charged a man with setting a fire at an Apex assisted living facility where officials said he was a resident.

Bobby Holden was arrested Friday and faces felony arson charges.

Officials said Holden started the fire Thursday night at the Brookridge Assisted Living Facility on Lynch Street in Apex. Firefighters said the fire started in the utility room.

All 49 residents were able to safely evacuate the building.
