Car slams into trees, lands upside down

A man was luckily not seriously injured Thursday after his car slammed into some trees and overturned in Moore County.

The accident happened around 10 p.m. on Union Church Road in Carthage.

Authorities said the man lost control of his car, run off the road and slammed into two pine trees. The car then spun back onto the roadway and landed upside down.

The driver was trapped in the car and emergency crews had to free him. The unidentified man was reportedly not badly injured. He was taken to Moore Regional by EMS.

Authorities have not said what caused the accident.
