Reuben Young is currently the Secretary of the North Carolina Department of Public Safety.
In a bio attached to a news release, Perdue's office said Young worked as a prosecutor in Texas for nearly ten years before he moved to North Carolina. Beginning in 1995, he worked in the state Department of Justice for six years representing the Department of Public Safety in both state and federal court.
In the announcement , Perdue also named her general council Mark Davis to a seat on the North Carolina Court of Appeals.
