A teenager killed in an alleged street-racing crash last weekend was laid to rest Wednesday.

Family and friends gathered to say goodbye to 16-year-old Daniel Underhill at New Horizons Church in Durham.

The State Highway Patrol said Underhill crashed into a tree after he lost control of his pickup while racing another teen on Little River Church Road in Hillsborough on Saturday evening.

Underhill and his passenger, 16-year-old Kacie Chamberlain, died at the scene. Two other passengers were taken to Duke Hospital.

The driver of the vehicle that troopers say was racing Underhill, 17-year-old Collin Lunsford, faces reckless driving charges and two counts of misdemeanor death by motor vehicle.

Chamberlain's funeral will be held Friday.
