Investigators trying to ID robbery suspects

Authorities in Durham are asking for the public's help in identifying two suspects in connection with an armed robbery Monday.

It happened just before 7:30 p.m. at the Speed EEZ convenience store.

Sheriff's investigators said two men, one armed with a shotgun and the other with a pistol, entered the store and held the store's clerk at gunpoint while they emptied the cash register.

Investigators said they believed the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle after the robbery. The store's clerk was not hurt.

Surveillance footage of the robbery can been seen online.

The suspect seen carrying the shotgun was described as a slim-build African American man standing between 5 feet 6 inches tall and 5 feet 8 inches tall. He was wearing a black coat with a hood, a scarf over his face and dark-colored pants.

The second suspect armed with the pistol was described as a medium-build African American man standing between 5 feet 9 inches tall and 5 feet 11 inches tall. He is also wearing dark-colored clothing with a hood and a scarf over his face.
