Evanston gets $1M for ultra high-speed Internet

January 18, 2013 (EVANSTON, Ill.)

The state is providing $1 million to bring ultra-high speed internet service to the city. According to Governor Pat Quinn's office, that's 100 times faster than what's available today.

City officials say that will make Evanston a premier place to start a business and it will benefit research at Northwestern University. Governor Quinn says it's needed to compete in the 21st century economy.
