Two Raleigh homes catch fire overnight

RALEIGH

Firefighters were called were called to the intersection of E Martin and S Haywood streets near downtown Raleigh around 1 a.m. Tuesday.

The fire started at the first home and quickly spread to a neighboring house, according to officials.

Witnesses at the scene said they saw several people running from the homes after the fire started.

The cause of the blaze is still under investigation. Further details have not been released.
