Fourteen people are looking for a new place to stay after a house fire in downtown Raleigh damaged their home early Thursday morning.

Fourteen people are looking for a new place to stay after a house fire in downtown Raleigh damaged their home early Thursday morning.

The fire broke out around 2 a.m. at a boarding house in the 300 block of Hill Street, near Saint Augustine's University.

The 14 people inside were able to get out safely.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, but officials said they believed it started in the basement.
