Seven vying for vacant school board seat

CARY, N.C.

The board is trying to find someone to fill the void left by Debra Goldman's departure. She resigned earlier this month after moving to Wilkes County.

Board members will interview the seven candidates for her seat on Saturday, March 9.

The person selected will serve out Goldman's term which comes ends this November, then will vote on the new representative following the interview process.

The seven candidates are:

  • Bill Flethcer
  • Linda Gunter
  • Nancy Caggia
  • Lois Nixon
  • Anna Johnson
  • Jim Pomeranz
  • William Ingerslew

Candidates were required to live in District 9 and submit a letter of interest, a resume, and three letters of recommendation to be considered for the role.
