FAYETTEVILLE

Detectives with the Fayetteville Police Department said they believed the suspect was involved in two recent armed robberies.

The first one happened Saturday at the Family Dollar on Raeford Road. The second one happened early Thursday morning at the Kangaroo Convenience Store also on Raeford Road.

In both incidents, police said the suspect walked into the stores with a handgun and took an undisclosed amount of money before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a black man in his late 20s standing about 6 feet 3 inches tall and weighing about 200 pounds.

He was seen in surveillance photos wearing a black bomber type jacket with a fur trimmed hood, dark colored pants and black and white sneakers.

Authorities said the suspect had facial hair during the first robbery and was clean shaven during the second robbery.
