Metra trains moving- slowly- after incident near Hinsdale

March 18, 2013

Trains in both directions were stopped for more than an hour after the incident, which occurred around 3 p.m. Monday, in Hinsdale. Around 5 p.m., outbound trains started moving, slowly. Two of the three tracks reopened.

Police say Train No. 1268 struck the pedestrian, who was killed.

Metra tweeted the delays of 90-120 minutes are "significant," and is "urging passengers to stay downtown, consider using UP-W out of Olgilvie Transportation Center, or use other modes of transportation."
