Javon Lerail Walker, 25, of Raleigh, was arrested Monday. Wake County Public Schools confirmed Walker was employed as a teacher assistant at Leesville Road High School until he resigned Monday. He was hired last September.
He's charged with four counts of sex offenses with a student.
Walker played for NC State from 2007 until 2009 - when his career was ended by persistent knee injuries.
Bond was set at $200,000.
