The Cumberland County Sheriff's Office is looking for two suspects after a long-distance truck driver was assaulted last week.

Detectives said a passerby spotted 46-year-old Wael Wael of Jacksonville, Florida, lying on the median along the intersection of exit 58 on I-95 north and Goldsboro Road in Eastover on May 1.

Authorities said Wael was in critical condition and suffering from severe head trauma when he was found. He is currently in serious, but stable condition at a local hospital.

Cumberland County officials are currently searching for a white/Indian woman and an African American man driving a light colored Mitsubishi Mirage with a rear spoiler and a black bra with a bumper sticker on the front in connection with the case.

Anyone who has any information is urged to contact the Cumberland County Sheriff's Office Homicide Unit at (910) 677-5548 or (910) 677-5503. All calls will remain confidential.
