If you Google the name Elizabeth South, you'd think she's already made it big. Superstar Vince Gill said South's song "I Love You" was "crazy good."
But there is much more to South than just singing. To her students, she is Miss South. She has been the music and drama teacher for ten years at Durham Academy.
South was born and raised in North Carolina, and is a Broughton High School graduate. She's been told since she was little that she has a gift.
"People thought I had a great voice and when I sang I felt really happy," said South. "I can't explain it. It's just one of those things that brings me joy."
Five years ago, Nashville came calling. She now has five albums from Christian to Country, and videos all over YouTube. She wants to do more.
"If I don't do anything else with my music and I'm here with these little ones, I am very content and happy," said South. "Obviously, if more comes with the music that would be great as well, but I'm good either way. I'm just having fun."
South's "I Love You" music video with Vince Gill is going to play on "TCN", The Country Network.
