He's charged with killing his wife, Janet, back in 2005.
Forensic experts testified that blood found on Raven's shirt is not consistent with a statement he made to police.
The defense wanted to block the testimony of a forensic expert who was talking about blood patterns, because that expert based his conclusions on pictures, not the actual items and crime scene. However, the judge overruled that objection and allowed the testimony to be heard in court.
Tom Martin is a forensic consultant who is considered an expert on blood stain pattern analysis.
The state called him to testify about pictures taken from the crime scene. He showed those pictures to the jury and talked about the blood spatters in the office where Janet was found, along with blood found on the sweatshirt Raven was wearing. He also focused on what he said appeared to be a bloody handprint found on Janet and Raven Abaroa's son's clothing.
"The thing that's notable about this right hand print, and it's kind of counterintuitive of how you'd pick up a child wearing a onesie," said Martin.
The defense maintains that Raven came home and found his wife bleeding to death and tried unsuccessfully to revive her.
However, the prosecution has been trying to make the case that Raven Abaroa had affairs, wanted out of his marriage, and had money problems that Janet's life insurance policy could help cover.
