Officials search for Sampson County murder suspect

Sampson County officials are searching for a murder suspect wanted in connection with a fatal shooting that happened Saturday.

Deputies responded to a home on Garcia Family Lane in Magnolia just after 4:30 p.m. and found the body of 33-year-old Margarito Perez-Lopez.

Investigators believe Perez-Lopez was involved in a verbal argument with another man when gunfire broke out.

The suspect is a Hispanic male, approximately 5'6" tall, between 190 and 200 pounds, and reportedly goes by the names Noe Garcia Luna or Noe Garcia, according to witnesses. The suspect is 45 years old and lives on Mertina Road in Magnolia. Luna was last seen operating a tan/beige sport utility vehicle, possibly a Jeep Cherokee.

A warrant has been issued for Luna's arrest in the murder of Perez-Lopez.
