One of the teenagers charged in the case had his case pushed to adult court, which could mean a more severe punishment if he's found guilty.
It happened after one teen took the stand against another teen and said a now 16-year-old boy beat a homeless man with a rock and left him for dead.
However, the teen's mom says her son is innocent.
"I am saying my son didn't do this," said the mother. "Yes, I know for a fact he is [innocent]. I'm not just saying him. I'm saying all of them."
That teen will be tried as an adult. In all, five teens in all are accused of brutally beating Regynald Brown to death on a greenway in southeast Raleigh this past winter.
The teen's mom says her son has mental issues and her goal now is to try and pay his $1 million bond.
"My thought is to get my son home and hold him," she said. "That's my main point."
Brown was the father of three. Friends say he had fallen on hard times and was living along the greenway.
