Window washers rescued from scaffold on New York City building

June 12, 2013 1:41:13 PM PDT
Firefighters rescued two window washers who spent more than an hour hanging from the 44th story of the Hearst Tower in Midtown.

The Hearst Building is located at 57th Street and 8th Avenue.

The two workers were trapped near the top of the building, but they appeared to be in good condition, officials said.

Fire officials determined the safest way to rescue the workers was by removing the glass and bringing them in through a 44th floor window rather then put any firefighters over the side of the building.
