Wake County patrol cars damaged during high-speed chase

WAKE COUNTY

Authorities said it started around 2 a.m. when a Raleigh police officer attempted to make a traffic stop and the driver took off, eventually losing the officer.

Garner police spotted the vehicle a short time later and chased him, along with Wake County Sheriff's deputies.

The chase wound through Garner streets, sometimes reaching speeds of 100 miles an hour, before the driver's tires were blown using police stop sticks at Timber Drive near Buckingham Road.
