Man facing charges in fatal Fayetteville shooting

A man is facing charges in connection with a fatal shooting in Fayetteville overnight.

It happened around 12:20 a.m. Wednesday at a home in the 800 block of Bullock Street.

Officers were called to the scene after a report of a verbal argument that led to the shooting of 42-year-old Robert Lamont Currie, according to police.

Authorities arrested 38-year-old Marlon Dwayne Underwood and charged him with first-degree murder. He is currently at the Cumberland County Detention Center without bond.

Further details about the incident have not been released at this time. An investigation is ongoing at this time.
