Car fire blocks roadway in Raleigh

A car that caught on fire Thursday morning blocked several lanes of Durant Road near Capital Boulevard in Raleigh during the morning commute.

A car that caught on fire during the Friday morning commute, blocked several lanes of Durant Road near Capital Boulevard in Raleigh.

Smoke was seen pouring from the front of a sedan in the turn lane of Durant Road just before 8:30 a.m.

Fire crews at the scene were able to quickly put out the blaze.

It is unclear what caused the car to catch on fire and if anyone was hurt.

Both directions of Durant Road were slowly reopened about 30 minutes after the incident.
