It happened around 10 p.m. in the outbound lanes of Raeford Road.

Authorities said 33-year-old Erica McMillian was driving east down Raeford Road when she turned left onto Brighton Road in front of 50-year-old Jerry George's scooter as he was going west on Raeford Road.
They said George was unable to stop and struck the right side of McMillian's Chrysler Crossfire.
George was taken to Cape Fear Valley Medical Center, where he later died from his injuries.
McMillian has been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and unsafe movement.
