Authorities arrested 20-year-old Dontay Awtwanne Rone Friday in connection with Thursday's incident and another similar incident reported earlier this month on Franklin Street.
Police said a female student was walking from the intersection of Cameron Avenue and South Columbia Street around 8:15 a.m., when she noticed that she was being followed by an unknown man.
The student said she then walked inside Carroll Hall - a building that houses many of the journalism school's classrooms - and the suspect came up behind her and forcefully slapped her on the buttocks before fleeing from the building.
Rone is facing two counts of sexual battery charges.
