Police say they've charged a registered sex offender with two counts of first-degree sexual offenses with a child.

Ike David Simmons, 37, was being held on $500,000 bond.

Police said his registered sex offender status was the result of 2003 military court convictions.

The new charges stem from alleged incidents in 2009. The victim was 12 years old at the time.

Police said they expect more charges to be filed.
