It happened just after noon when the officer pulled over a motorcycle on Sawyer Road and McMakin Street.

Authorities said when the officer approached the motorcycle; the rider hit the officer in the face.
The officer was treated at the scene by EMS, but the extent of his injuries are unknown.
The unidentified motorcyclist was taken into custody and charges are pending.
