Nearly 1,000 people were hauled away in handcuffs during three months of protests inside the legislative building.
District Attorney Colon Willoughby is offering deferred prosecution. It's something he says he offers to most people facing civil disobedience charges.
Charges would be dropped if protesters perform 25 hours of community service and pay court costs.
Willoughby added that the deal also benefits Wake County.
If a majority of the demonstrators take the deal, it would mean thousands of hours of community service for Wake County plus money from the fines.
