At last check, there were about 450 fewer calls to school system than Monday.
It's an improvement but you may be surprised at where the school system lays much of the blame for problems -- on parents and students.
"The number one thing is that we want the kids to be safe, said Bugg Elementary School Assistant Principal Ruthann Freeman."All kindergarteners, first graders and new students are to be tagged with their mode of transportation on the first day of school."
Even with those fail-safe in place, parents are still reporting bus drivers missing stops, late pickups and drop-offs, and safety issues at stops -- such as dropping kids off in high traffic areas.
School officials, on the other hand, are quick to put many of the problems back on parents and kids.
"Making sure that the parents knew their stops, children that lost their tag and didn't make sure the tag was on, parents that changed their routes at the last minute," said Freeman.
That doesn't account for one of the causes of delays in the last two days -- the number of accidents involving school buses. There have been six since the traditional year started.
